Abstract / Introduction

Due to busy life, it is difficult for many to visit the shopping stores to purchase gits for friends and family. Furthermore, shopping from an online gifts store is more convenient and better due to some other factors as well, e.g. browsing of gift items are quicker than looking gifts in a physical store. A wide variety of gifts are available as compared to physical stores which require huge area to showcase a wide variety of gifts.

Customization of gifts is easier in online store as compared with physical store. Payment of gifts is easier and delivery options make it more convenient for user to send the gifts to loved ones at far away locations. Online store allows users to compare prices and features of different products which makes it easier to find best gift within budget. Online gift store will have all the features and facilities mentioned above.

Functional Requirements:

Following are some functional requirements of a desired online gift store. The students who will select this project will provide detailed requirements in SRS (software requirement specification) document.

1. The sender of gift will pay some amount to store and share the address of receiver in advance.
2. Store will calculate some standard shipping charges and deduct from the amount received from sender.
3. Store will send a link to receiver to show the catalog of gifts which will be under the range of remaining amount after deduction of shipping charges.
4. Receiver will be able to see only gifts which will be under the remaining amount.
5. Receiver will select a gift which will be shipped.
6. In case there will be any amount left after purchasing the gift it will be returned to the sender.
7. Users should be able to create an account with the online gift store and login securely to access the website’s features.
8. The online gift store should allow receiver to browse through various products such as flowers, chocolates, gift baskets, etc. Users should also be able to search for specific products using relevant keywords.
9. The online gift store should categorize its products into different categories to make it easier for users to find what they are looking for.

10.The online gift store should allow users to customize their gifts, such as selecting preferred colors, etc.

11.The online gift store should offer secure payment processing options such as credit/debit cards, or other online payment methods.

12.The online gift store should provide users with the ability to track their orders, view order history, and manage their account information.

13.The online gift store should have a feedback mechanism that will help to address the issue and improve the service.

14.The online gift store should offer various promotions and discounts to attract customers especially on events and selected days like valentine day, mother’s day, etc.
