System Description:

The online vehicle rental system will provide online service which will allow customers to book vehicles online anywhere any time. This will help a company to serve their customers and to keep track of all vehicles in an easy and efficient way. Customers can make bookings online by filling out a form. They can easily check for availability of vehicles. They can also see information like vehicle model, color, rental price etc. easily. The system will also allow the customers to cancel a booking any time. Booking reports can be easily generated. Managers and owners of company can easily view/analyze the booking reports.

Functional Requirements:

Customers’ Requirements:

1. The system should allow customers to view different vehicle categories such as bicycle, car, bus, wagons, truck etc.
2. Customers should be able to view vehicle details like type make, model, and color etc. of vehicle.
3. The system should allow customers to check for vehicle availability.
4. The system should allow customers to fill in a booking form and submit vehicle reservation request.
5. The system should allow customers to get registered to start booking.
6. The system should allow customers to make payments online or via cash.
7. The system should allow customers to cancel reservation.
8. The system should allow customers to view discount, membership’s offers.
9. Customer support service should be available to customer 24/7.

Admin’s Requirements:

1. The system should allow admin to create a new account, log in and out from the account.
2. Admin should be able to update their account information.
3. The system should allow admin to add different vehicle categories such as bicycle, car, bus, wagons, truck etc.
4. The system should allow admin to add record of new vehicle in company inventory.
5. The system should allow admin to accept or reject vehicle reservation request, and update booking status of vehicles.
6. The system should allow admin to view booking lists.
7. The system should only allow booking to those customers whose age is greater than 18.
8. Customers’ details should be verified by the admin.
9. Admin should be able to manage all payments, customers, and vehicles records etc.

10.There should be database for complete vehicle rental system based on given functionality.

Note: More requirements can be added as per need.
