Abstract / Introduction

The vehicle rental management system is a web-based application that provides a platform for vehicle rental companies to manage their rental inventory, pricing, reservations, while allowing users to search and book vehicles based on their specific needs. Once a user sign’s up he/she can search and select available vehicles, create new reservations, and give feedback, For Admin of rental companies to manage their rental inventory, pricing, reservations. The system is designed to be user-friendly, secure, and efficient, providing a convenient and streamlined rental experience for both users and rental companies. The vehicle rental management system is a valuable tool for rental companies to improve their rental operations and customer service, while providing a convenient and flexible solution for users to rent vehicle online.

Functional Requirements:

Admin Side:

  1. Admin can login and logout on a separate panel.
  2. Admin approves or refuse any user sign up.
  3. Admin can add/update/delete/view any vehicle category (i.e. Bike/Car/Truck) etc detail.
  4. Admin can add/update/delete/view any Cars details. Admin can add/update/delete/view any Bike details.
  5. Admin should be able to view and manage all reservations made by users.
  6. Admin should be able to view and manage availability of the vehicles.
  7. Admin should be able to view reports/status of the vehicles (like monthly based reservation report, daily based reservation report etc).
  8. Admin should be able to add/remove/update/view its employees in the system.

User Side:

  1. User can signup and sign in on a separate page.
  2. User should be able to search and browse available vehicle in the system by entering search criteria such as location, date, time, and type.
  3. User should also be able to select a vehicle and view its details, including photos, specifications, and rental rates.
  4. User should be able to create a new reservation for a selected vehicle by specifying the pickup and return date.
  5. User should be able to view and manage their existing reservations.
  6. User should be able to manage their user account.
  7. User should be able to provide feedback and ratings on their rental experience.
  8. User should be able to contact support for any issues or questions they may have.

Tools:

Student can develop this project in the following frameworks: i) ASP.NET Web forms Ii) ASP.NET MVC Iii) ASP.NET CORE iv) PHP – LARAVEL

IDE: Visual Studio 2013+ (For Dot Net), Visual Studio Code (For PHP)

Database: MSSQL, MySQL

Front end: HTML, CSS, JS, JQUERY Back end: ASP.Net C#, PHP
